“ This has a nice selection of Russian and other Eastern European food items. We bought some of their prepared foods like Hungarian beef goulash, cabbage rolls stuffed with chicken and rice, as well as lamb and beef pierogis. They have nice cakes, chocolates, ice cream, smoked fish, all kinds of sausages and cheese, roast pork, chicken shish kabobs, fruit juices, teas etc. The prices are fair too. My kid and I found the beef goulash and the lamb and beef pierogis/meat pies very delicious. The cabbage rolls were so-so. ”
“ Have been going to that store for many years. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The store has a variety of products: from bakery to cooked food and all the other products that you might need on the daily basis. ”
“ A bit slow when you get to the cashier but they have good selection of Eastern European food and delicatesen. ”
“ Generally good service and traditional Russian meals. They have a large variety or desserts, deli meats, smoked/dried fish, cheese, hot prepared foods. The Blinchiki are always hot , always fresh. The staff is generally friendly. The store is usually crowded, always take a number and wait to be called. I highly suggest taking a walk all the way down and working your way back so you get everything you want and don't miss when they bring something hot out. Freezer has a good variety of pelmeni. It helps if you speak the language , but if you don't - someone ( if not the staff themselves) will be able to help. There is also a nice variety of Russian candy. The store is small but it has a lot to choose from. I would recommend it. Sometimes the wait can be long, the parking is available but get packed quickly. ”
“ Great selection of Russian (& other) goods, including: fresh baked items, salads, meats, and pre-made & packaged goods. Friendly and helpful staff. Convenient parking. ”
“ In the Fair Lawn area, there aren't really many options for authentic Russian food and groceries. This is it. The selection here is surprisingly good considering the size of the place. The staff here can be a bit slow to help as well, depending on how busy the store is. Bottom line, this place fits the bill if you're looking for authentic Russian food and groceries in the area. ”
“ They're still setting up, but it's looking delicious inside. We were waiting for dinner from Juicy Platters down the road, so we walked on over (about 30 seconds up the block) to buy a drink for our meal and to check out the commotion. This Russian-esque/European specialty market is still in the process of opening, but I'm happy with what I see. These fair-lawn Ruskees(sp?Pc?) house some interesting dishes. We saw smoked pork loin, handmade chicken sausages, even some tongue. It looks intimidating but at the same time very Mmmmm. (definitely trying some of these out) They offer Kefir milk, side salads, and foreign sodas (not crazy expensive either). I got a bottle of Russian soda...it had no discernible English writing on it. However, I was in luck, its logo was picture of a smiling golden cartoon boy holding a shimmering key...I figured this was a good sign. Kid looked happy. So, I tried the soda. After suppressing the urge to overthrow the government for communist purposes, I realized the soda tasted a lot like Ramune soda(the one with the marble). It was double the size of a ramune for only $1.29. Can't argue with that. They had fair prices, unique selections of food, and healthy side salads. This place isn't for everyone though, you have to have a sense of adventure when you buy something and don't really know what it is. Plus the in house butcher may be too much for some. Look for the Warhol Soup Cans and Caviar on Broadway, that's their sign. ”
